It is a fibrous constituent of bones, certilage and tendons. Vitamin C contributes to the normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and supports the normal function of muscles and of the immune system. Copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues. Selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Chondroitin is a substance of animal origin that belongs to the family of glycosaminoglycans.
